GRAN FONDO RACE 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM / RAGAZZI FUN RIDE 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Ragazzi Fun Ride

Bring your family to a fun outdoor event. Go through your course and then you get a medal and then you can go to the Italian Festival. Includes: continental breakfast, event t-shirt, swag bag, race bib, and food & drinks through the event.

 

This event takes place on Sunday, January 19.  Start Time 9:00am

  • 3 Distances to Choose From-Open to Ages: 14-Up. These Open Course rides are Non-Competitive and designed for an enjoyable tour of West St. John’s County.
  • Trenta Ride- 33.5 Mile ride on an OPEN course that is supported with one (1) fully supported SAG Aid Station at the 12.1 mile mark.
  • Sessanta Ride – 60.8 Mile ride on an OPEN course that is supported with three (3) fully supported SAG Aid Stations at mile mark 12.1, 33.3 and 51.8.
  • Ottanta Ride – 86.5 Mile ride on an OPEN course that is supported with five (5) fully supported SAG Aid Stations at mile mark 12.1, 33.3, 46, 64.9 and 77.7.
  • All participants who complete the ride will receive a commemorative Finisher medallion at the finish line.

Gran Fondo Race

This event takes place on Sunday, January 19.  Start Time 8:00am

3 Distances to Choose From-Open to Ages: 14-Up. These are Open Course Competitive Races and designed for the amateur or professional cyclist.

Each Race Course consists of Timed Segments that will determine your place. The rider with the lowest aggregate time through all timed segments will be the winner. Complete Course Time (From Start Line to Finish Line) will NOT count towards award placement. Each Timed Segment will vary in distance.

  • Piccolo – 33.5 Mile race on an OPEN course with one (1) Timed Segment and one (1) fully supported SAG Aid Station at the 12.1 mile mark.
  • Medio – 60.8 Mile race on an OPEN course with three (3) Timed Segments and three (3) fully supported SAG Aid Stations at mile mark 12.1, 33.3 and 51.8.
  • Gran Fondo – 86.5 Mile race on an OPEN course with four (4) Timed Segments and five (5) fully supported SAG Aid Stations at mile mark 12.1, 33.3, 46, 64.9 and 77.7.

Gran Fondo Cyclists will compete for the following:

  • Top 3 Overall Male
  • Top 3 Overall Female
  • Top 3 in each 5 Year Age Group (19-Under thru 80-Up)

Each Distance will receive a Full Spread of Awards, so we will award the Overall and Age Groups for each Distance.

Overall Male and Female Winner of the Gran Fondo 86 Mile Distance will receive a Custom Art Piece from Renowned Sculptor Andreas Wargenbrant.
